| So, it's been another 8 months. I guess it's time for another random update. This past year I've been in graduate school for reading education. I've loved it! The program has been wonderful, and I've really enjoyed my extra free time. To earn some extra cash, I've also been subbing at various schools in the county, trying to figure out where I want to teach in the fall. I'm on break right now until mid June when I start up my last semester before I graduate. The good news is that I've just accepted a job to teach at Autrey Mill Middle School next year. I'll be teaching 6th grade reading (what I'm getting my master's in) and social studies (what I've always wanted to teach). It's the perfect position for me, and I couldn't be more excited. The school is also known for having an exceptional principal and wonderfully behaved children. It's also only 2 years old, so the building is state of art and gorgeous. I may even get a room with a window and student computers!
I created a homepage for the my future classroom. Check it out at www.student.gsu.edu/~jkoo3. It's still a work in progress, but I'm pretty proud of it since I'm kind of technologically illiterate. It was a final project for a grad class I just finished.
Well besides school and work, married life is still wonderful. We're quickly approaching our 1 year anniversary in July. Can you believe it? Ben has proved to be an amazing husband. I really lucked out! I'm geting more used to being a YIN, but I definitely still miss the sound of Koo. But it's a small price to pay to have the man of my dreams.
Well, that's about it for me! Feel free to email me at jenkoo28@yahoo.com if you want to say hello.

| Well, it's only been about 9 months since I last updated this thing :) I actually kinda of forgot about it. Xanga was more of a college thing for me I guess. Well, needless to say, A LOT has changed in the last 9 months. My name has changed to Jennifer Yin after marrying my high school sweetheart. I can't really put into words how wonderful being married is. I read a lot of books before getting married about all the trials, fights, compromising, stress, etc. that marriage often brings. But I suppose I'm still in the honeymoon stage because so far it's been 99% bliss. I LOVE seeing Ben every morning & evening and just sharing the little details of life with him in a way that we didn't really get to do before. Of course, there are things I had to get used to, like how anal he can be about certain things (he'll get annoyed with me if I take a pen off of his desk and not put it back in the exact same spot). And how he likes to "over dry" the clothes in the dryer. But really, I can't complain. He's a great husband: loving, clean, responsible, helpful, and considerate. And yes, it's important for a man to be clean and help with the house work. Ben does more than his share! It's heaven!
Well, enough of the mush. On to what else has been going on. I'm in grad school full time now at GA State getting my master's in literacy education...hopefully to be a reading teacher or reading specialist. I really love being a full time student again. It's very different from undergrad b/c grad students vary in age so much and have their own lives/families/jobs. But I love the flexibility of being a student...I don't have to wake up at 6am every morning and I have Wednesdays and Fridays off! No job can ever offer that kind of schedule :) The classes I'm taking are all fairly interesting, and the work load is heavy, but not overwhelming (yet). Well, you ask, what about cash? Yes, it's true that I'm not earning a salary this year :( So to help supplement my hubby's salary I sub once a week and tutor twice a week. Subbing has been a good experience so far, but I have yet to sub in a HS, so we'll see!!
Well, those are the basics of my life these days. I'm loving life as Mrs. Yin and enjoying my time away from the chaos of middle school. God is good :)

| Surprise! I'm acutally updating this thing. I wonder if anyone out there is actually going to read this...
Anyways, I suppose writing this xanga makes me feel a little less guilty about the sucky job I do of keeping in touch with friends. Yes, I sent out a total of 3 real Christmas cards this year. So sad. Well, let's see...where to begin. My family and I just returned from Florida. It was actually kind of nice spending time with them and forcing myself to be non-productive. Now that I'm back, I have less than a week before life gets crazy again. So far, I've researched a number of pre-marital counselors (which by the way are very pricey), registered online for Bed Bath & Beyond's bridal registry, ordered all my bridesmaids' dresses (in light blue, kinda close to Carolina blue :), shopped around for houses/townhouses with Ben (and found one we really like!), and worked on my resume and cover letters. Yes, I'm going to apply for some private school teaching positions. I have no clear directions as to where I'm supposed to be career-wise next year, but I want to keep all of my options open. I'm applying to 4 or 5 Christian schools, so we'll see where this leads! Oh, and I don't think I mentioned that I found my wedding gown a few weeks ago, too! I love it, and I'm pretty happy with the price as well. All I can say is that I can't wait for the summer!!
It's been nice spending time with my family this past week and veggie out some. I just pray that next semester won't be as draining as this past one was. I hope all of you are enjoying your holidays! All the best :)
| Ahh, yes...xanga. it's been a while. Well, tonight i am not doing any school work. when i stop to think about it, it kind of suck that even after college and years and years of school work, i am still doing school work. well, at least i get paid for it now. (sigh). you know, sometimes i think i'd rather get a pay cut and just be a sell out and teach private school. kids there have to be good or else they'll be kicked out. that would be SO nice.
It's getting cold and i need to buy new winter shoes. yeah, the ugly ones. those are the only kind that don't hurt my feet after a long day at work!
i went to a bridal shower yesterday, and it dawned on me how there's still SO much to be planned. like when ben and i register for wedding gifts, we have to envision what our home is going to look like...the color schemes of all the rooms, the furnishings, the thickness of the towels, etc. there are so many details to attend to! in the mean time, ben's busy planning and dreaming away about the honeymoon. he really wants to go to Tahiti or Fiji, but i'm like, "yo, dude! that's gonna be SO expensive!" i'm cool with staying closer and saving some mulah.
yeah...i'm just counting down the days to May...until then, i'm thinking of taking the friday after my birthday off and taking a short weekend trip to N. GA or something. a day away from my terrors (oh, i mean, kids) would be the best birthday present!
| so yeah, i arrived at school at 7am this morning (fairly typical), but i didn't leave until almost 8pm! there's definitely something wrong with that.
well, at least i'm treating myself to a massage at the spa on friday! heavens knows i need it.
